Camping is great for the whole family, but you need to bear in mind that it does take quite a bit more preparation than the average holiday.
1. Always do research on your destination
This simply comes down to being prepared. Before you leave always check the road condition for where you will be travelling. It is not much fun if you spend 3 hours in the car only to be blocked by floods halfway through your journey.
Before you embark ring the campsite to see if everything is still a go, check the weather reports and find out what facilities are available at the campsite so you know what to pack.

Many people enjoy camping due to its lower cost compared to a more traditional holiday. It’s great to get outside and enjoy what nature has provided, even it is only the view. Families can benefit greatly from the bonding time they have together while out in the bush but there is one caveat to camping and that is it is rather more difficult to prepare for compared to other forms of holidaying.

If you are into car and tent camping then freeze dried may not be your first choice of food for a camping trip. Despite its advantages in weight and space saving, it can cost quite a bit more than your average meal, depending on how and where you purchase. Campers who can benefit the most from freeze dried food are the hikers amongst us, whose primary purpose is to get the weight of their pack down as much as possible, while also keeping it as small as possible.
Freeze dried food, despite sometimes being on the pricey side, is actually very good for you. The process used to store it manages to preserve the vast majority of nutrients and vitamins, and manages to do it for many years. I don’t know if anybody would want to put this to the test, but many producers of freeze dried products claim that the food will remain edible for up to 25 years. The product can even remain good for 12 months after opening if the proper storage techniques are adhered to.
